**ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES**

British American Tobacco Spain is looking for a hardworking, highly motivated Portugal Legal Counsel with a positive, can do mind set to join our Legal department, based in Madrid.

As a Portugal Legal Counsel in our team you will provide legal advice and analysis to the organisation, under the supervision of the Portugal Legal Counsel.

**Reports to**:Portugal Legal Counsel

**Geographic Scope**:Iberia Market

**WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR**
- Secure the full and timely implementation of marketing and commercial programs within regulatory local frameworks of Portugal
- Contribute to the preservation of BAT reputation by serving as legal advisor of the business units of the Company,
- Contributing to the maintenance of the BAT business according to the BAT strategy
- Comply and implement activities in accordance with the rules of laws and regulations and procedures BAT group

**CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?**
- You have a University degree in Portuguese Law
- You are a proficient user of English and Portuguese
- You are and advanced user of MS Office

**ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**
- University degree in Portuguese Law
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Portuguese language. Spanish will be a nice to have.
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in a reputable law firm or it the Legal department of a FMCG company, preferable in the tobacco industry
- Proven very good knowledge of general legislation and experience in regulatory markets, antitrust legislation, contracts management, corporate law and labour law;
- Good ability to translate legal concepts into an easily understandable format and to communicate them clearly, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management
- Experience in dealing with a wide range of corporate and commercial legal issues;
- Ability to manage external lawyers.
- Autonomy, proactivity, influencing skills and problem solving attitude;
- Strategic thinker
- The ability to work with peers and senior management, inspiring trust and confidence.
