**Your new role**

Ramboll Italy is seeking a **Senior** **Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist**to join its collaborative team in** Italy/ Spain.** This individual will serve a key function providing the review of technical reports, specifications, plans, designing foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical aspects of construction**.** In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally on premier land development projects.

Your key responsibilities will be:

- Preparing and checking engineering designs, technical documents, and calculations, and supervising the production of design documents for issue to the Client
- Organising and coordinating projects from Site Investigation and design feasibility to detailed design, including site supervision where required
- Development of project controls and monitoring of progress against programmes
- Ensuring that designs, assessments and checking of designs are in accordance with the current design Standards, Codes of Practice, and best practice
- Undertaking a wide range of geotechnical design work, fully compliant with Eurocodes
- Assisting in the preparation of expressions of interest and tenders, including cost estimates
- Coordinating the work undertaken by external sub-contractors and design checkers
- Project administration reporting to Line Management including monitoring programme delivery, resources, and budgets
- Development and technical assurance of design, including client’s presentations and reports
- Maximising business development opportunities where possible

**About you**
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology required, Master's degree strongly preferred
- 5+ years of related geotechnical experience in geotechnical investigations and construction inspections;
- Experience working in a design environment (some site experience as well is preferred)
- Advanced numerical modelling skills using 2D Plaxis or similar preferred
- A working knowledge of a range of geotechnical software, including Geo Studio suite (Slope/W, Seep/W) or similar
- Good knowledge of statutory processes and technical standards, including Eurocodes
- Significant experience in the civil engineering sector
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
- Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing for client meetings and job site visits.
