Summary

What you will be doing

The Chief Accountant will support all activities performed by the hotel, to include but not limited to, understanding financial performance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and month-end closing activities, reviewing monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Uniform System of Accounts and Hyatt policies and procedures. The role will ensure a smooth operation of all hotel finance activities in full compliance with the policy, regulatory and contractual framework. The role will business partner with all hotel finance team members and the Hotel Management team, and supports in developing excellent working relationships across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including Commercial, IT, Procurement, Operations, Shared Service Centres. In absence of the Director of Finance, the Chief Accountant will assume responsibilities. The role will participate in all relevant Finance training and development programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/ Finance Management.
- Experience in creating a budget, accounting guidelines, end of year accounts, and external liaison with auditors.
- 5-7 years at least in the Supervisory level
- Good written, spoken and read English
- Judgment and decision making
- Critical thinking
- Working knowledge of computer, especially accounting/spreadsheet related software and tools
- Managed the financial reporting, consolidation and financial analysis process to ensure that the firm financial information is accurate, methodic, timely and meets business needs.
- Advise the top level management with regards to finance, management, staffing and other service issues and procedures
- Led and directed the financial planning for the organization, including business operations and forecasting the business financial results.
- Involved in Business Development activities to develop financial models for sales and marketing initiatives and pricing strategies.
- This position is at a location where Hyatt is not the employer. The employer of individuals working at this hotel may be a third-party management company that is responsible for all employment benefits and obligations at this location._
