CIDETEC Surface Engineering is seeking to recruit a specialist in non-destructive composite inspection techniques for implementing and preparing RDI projects.

CIDETEC is an international leader in research and innovation related to surface engineering in the fields of Coatings and Surface Treatments, Polymers and Composites, and Nanosurfaces. We specialise in the treatment of surfaces and materials with state-of-the-art technologies. The researcher will work in activities related to the development of training and industrial R&D projects, in close contact with the most prominent companies in sectors such as aeronautics, automotive and energy.

**Your contribution**

You will join a cutting-edge research centre, focused on sustainability and the circular economy, which has spent years understanding and revolutionising the surfaces of things, from those we touch every day in our homes or our vehicles, to the most demanding materials for sectors such as aeronautics and energy.

You will work on training and/or company transfer projects, carrying out your work in such a way that you are able to pursue several lines of research simultaneously, optimising resources and maximising results.

Research and development work on R&D projects assigned, in collaboration with the Project team. They will be responsible for tasks involving:

- Specimen-level non-destructive mechanical characterization of the composites developed.
- Design of repair and recycling processes.
- Prototype design.
- Design of moulds and tools for prototype manufacture.
- Drawing up national and international RDI technical proposals.

**Education**:
Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Industrial Design or Aeronautics.

**Languages**:
Fluent spoken and written English.

**Knowledge and experience**:
At least four years’ professional experience in the area of polymer composite materials, in the following fields:

- Non-destructive inspection techniques, preferably ultrasound and noise emission.
- Calculation and design of both composites and composite processing tools.
- Specimen-level mechanical characterization.

The following experience is also considered a plus:

- RTM composite simulation and manufacturing, thermoforming.
- Knowledge of structural health monitoring techniques.
- Repair and maintenance.
- Holder of Ultrasound Inspector’s Diploma, Level 2 or 3.
