**Biostatistics technician**
**Statistic & Bioinformatics Unit (VHIR)**
The Statistics and Bioinformatics Unit (UEB) opens a selection process to incorporate a Biostatistic Technician. The role
of the UEB is to support basic and clinical researchers, mainly from the Campus Vall d’Hebron, in their research. This is
done primarily through data analysis services, participation in clinical trials, and data management services, and
bioinformatics data analyses. The unit also offers advice and training on statistics and bioinformatics. The selected
person will be responsible of the development of appropriate advice and services in bioinformatics for all the biomedical
researchers specially from VH Campus.
The position offered is ideal for someone combining high technical and scientific skills and knowledge of biostatistical
dta management with vocation for service/support and, especially, good capabilities to deal with biomedical
researchers**.**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**
Higher university degree in Maths, Statistics, Health Sciences or related.
- Postgraduate training in Biostatistics (PhD, Master,etc.)
- Complementary background in Data management
- Fluency in Spanish, Catalan and English

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required: -**
Mínimum 2 years’ experience in the biostatistics and /or data management
- Experience in biomedical research.
- Experience in electronic CRF, Data Management Plan.
- Knowledge and experience in data management and analysis software. (R, Stata, REDCap) etc).
- Knowledge and experience in OpenData sources
**Desired: -**
Having working in a ISO Quality environment
- Knowledge and experience in validation and regulatory environments
- Experience in data management plans
**Main responsibilities and duties: -**
Provide biostatistics and data management services to the Vall d’Hebron Campus or external research groups,
including:
- Participating in start-up meeting with researchers requesting database building or management and
understand the requirements of the study
- Advice for the database design and planning of research projects involving
- Write the proposal and budget for the required services
- Execute the eCRF building in REDCap and manage the user rights
- Ensure that database services are correct and delivered appropriately to customers who request them.
