General Accountant

**Location**
Madrid, Spain

The Regional Middle Office Center Madrid, is responsible for general accounting, NL technical accounting and claims handling services for Iberia, Latin America and Caribbean. We are looking for a flexible and highly motivated Accountant in this interesting, dynamic and international setting, contributing with expertise and engagement in the growing multicultural department.

Your job
- Check, post and pay all incoming vendor invoices (national and international)
- Keep vendor data updated in the general ledger
- Quarterly vendor control account reconciliation
- Correct documentation and storage of all payment supporting documents
- Weekly expense administration: check correct posting in the general ledger and arrange for payments
- Monthly uploading the payroll run into the general ledger and arranging for payment
- Monthly monitoring and reconciliation of MR Madrid bank account balance
- Quarterly interbranch account reconciliation
- Petty cash management and reconciliation
- Support the other colleague in her role as regional expert for Concur (expense tool)
- Support our tax expert with correct reporting and payment of Spanish taxes
- Being prepared to participate in projects and working groups globally

**Profile**:

- Degree in administration, finance or accounting sciences, preferably with professional experience in accounting
- Expertise in MS-Office, particularly Excel, and in SAP tools
- Analytical skills and accuracy in dealing with figures
- Self-confident approach combined with a high degree of dedication to working effectively and independently
- Strong communication skills and team spirit
- Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- Being prepared to take more responsibilities in a growing general accounting hub
