The NPI Engineer position will be based in _Madrid, Spain_ and will be responsible for technical leadership for product development and launch of Nextracker hardware products.
This team member will work with Nextracker product development and manufacturing teams and will also directly support packaging development to support safe shipments of goods. Responsibilities will include design for manufacturability review and supplier readiness.
What a typical day looks like:
- You will lead technical qualification efforts to support product launches, product development using the overall prioritization, milestones, deliverables, and success criteria for product qualification and ramp. Focus will balance quality, customer satisfaction, cost, and sustainability;
Work with senior technical leads to develop technical innovation strategy for the program;
- Will take the initiative to implement improvements identified with a recognized business benefit;
- Lead packaging and logistics cost reduction initiatives for assigned suppliers;
- Identify and mitigate risks, coordinate the day-to-day activities required to deliver all projects and deliverables on time, manage external dependencies and teams of contract support personnel at multiple locations;
- Will actively participate in client discussions, meetings, and business development opportunities as needed;
- Support product development, sales, and marketing as requested;
- Internal customer voice; an advocate for the customer within Nextracker.
The experience we're looking to add to the team:
- Experience with CM or OEM manufacturing including 2 years working regularly with one or more factories on process development, tooling readiness and NPI product launches;
- Preferred experience in developing industrial packaging designs or implementing in the factory for international shipment;
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience;
- Fluent oral and written communications in English and Spanish;
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills;
- Knowledge of complex international supply chain procurement and logistics systems;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with proven management experience;
- Experience in Solar or renewable energy field is an advantage.
