**Linum Consult’s client is a leading international finance company, currently seeking a Portuguese-, English-, and Spanish-speaking Financial Control and Regulatory Accountant to join their team in Madrid, Spain.**
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Overseeing the review and filing of accurate financial information to the company’s regulator, senior management, and other authorities
- Managing the general ledgers including executing controls, adjustments, reconciliations, and reviewing to ensure integrity across all associated reporting
- Coordinating the intercompany and accounts payable activities for the business unit
- Receiving and responding to queries from the regulator, tax authorities, and senior management
- Responding to changes in regulations and laws, assessing against current reporting requirements, and supporting the building of a response to ensure compliance
**PROFILE**
- Degree qualification in Business Administration, ideally with additional qualifications in Economics and/or Accounting
- Extensive experience working within the banking/finance sector or top tier consulting firms
- Certified as a Portuguese accountant, with excellent knowledge of Portuguese and IFRS accounting standards, together with regulatory and tax rules
- Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English
- Previous experience in a Financial Control or Regulatory Reporting function at a global organisation
- Experience in preparing, reviewing, and submitting EMF, FinRep, EIS and tax compliance returns
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to self-motivate and a strong analytical mindset
