Researcher - Financial Services (fluent Mandarin and Japanese) The Financial Services Researcher is responsible for producing high‑quality enhanced due diligence reports for financial services clients in the Asia Pacific region. Responsibilities include: Conduct public records research and discreet interviews to gather intelligence surrounding companies and individuals. Research specific topics and issues, draft summaries and findings, and produce high‑quality research reports for financial institution clients. Assist in proposal processes, scoping research, and client communications to understand requirements. Communicate directly with client compliance or internal control departments to clarify scope, address questions, and suggest additional avenues of research. Support manager in developing and expanding Control Risks research resource pool and subcontractor network. Engage with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring quality and adherence to global delivery standards. Liaise with colleagues across Control Risks to address client queries. Interact with researchers, supervisors, managers, and the Quality Assurance team to support VANTAGE work and discuss service/product improvements. Qualifications: Essential Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Full fluency in written and spoken Mandarin, Japanese, and English. Experience in writing, researching, and editing research reports with excellence in Japanese and English. Strong knowledge of open‑source research techniques. Excellent communication skills, ability to engage with senior stakeholders and diverse backgrounds. Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of the socio‑political environment in South‑East Asia. Proven ability to meet project deadlines and perform well under pressure. Preferred Experience executing and managing enhanced due diligence projects for financial institution clients. Experience engaging with international clients, preparing proposals, providing verbal updates, and responding to follow‑up questions. Fluency in an additional language.
