About the Role

Join us as Senior Manager, Manager Selection & Oversight at AIA Investment Management

This role works within the Group Unit Linked and Pensions Business (GULPB) in partnership with AIA local business units (LBU) and other Group units to undertake manager research, product selection and performance oversight for strategies suitable for the unit linked and pensions business across AIA Group.

Responsibilities
- Identify suitable best in class managers and strategies as well as develop investment solutions to support the LBU product needs.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment strategies which includes EFM screening, due diligence and ongoing performance analysis to ensure the strategies are properly executed and the performance objectives are met.
- Liaise with EFM’s to do preliminary desktop research and provide the specification to Group Investment Asset Class Heads of AIA for their approval
- Review monthly performance data of all ILP and pensions funds, engage LBUs on underperformance, and report findings to senior management via monthly group reporting.
- Perform performance oversight by establishing/reviewing the funds’ peer groups for performance monitoring and operate the group’s fund monitoring framework across the LBUs.
- Establish/review investment frameworks that will provide leadership and guidance to other units.
- Ensure the Fund Research Portal is well managed as a fund resource centre for the LBUs.
- Assist CEO of GULPB in reviewing the requests for fund approvals and material changes of funds.
- Regular review of product providers that are not covered through general accounts, interviews with portfolio managers as necessary
- Propose strategy enhancements or replacements where required
- Provide oversight in line with MAS outsourcing guidelines
- Ensure compliance with AIA’s Investment Governance Framework and relevant regulations
- Meet EFMs regularly to get new product ideas and industry intelligence
- Attend to LBU queries on managers and strategies as well as provide LBUs with recommendations to address potential investment headwinds.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in finance / law / economics, ideally with relevant professional qualifications such as CFA.
- At least 8 years relevant experience in the asset management industry in product due diligence and manager selection and oversight.
- Sound knowledge in equities, fixed income, multi-asset products, alternatives with an understanding of unit-linked, pensions and mutual fund market trends and movements, as well as a proven ability to identify product trends and to advise in the design of products to meet investor needs
- Excellent technical knowledge of funds with in depth knowledge of mutual fund products and working knowledge of regulatory environment in Asia.
- Energetic and possessing strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business, operations and internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong proven product management skill
- Proficient with Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Powerpoint, Word, MS Excel,
