Job summary
A Tax Manager II on the Tax Engine Taxonomy team has the primary responsibility of managing processes and a team of individuals in Barcelona, supporting Amazon’s Global transaction tax calculation platform and services. This role supports Amazon’s complex compliance and business demands, often related to legislative changes.

We are looking for a manager who is strong in leading people and motivating own team. The role is also responsible for ensuring the tax research is performed at the highest standards and complies with standard operating procedures.

Key job responsibilities
- Managing the team of tax researchers located in Barcelona
- Leading the team efforts in performing tax research across multiple jurisdictions
- Performing product taxability research across a wide range of categories, using various internal and external data sources
- Participating in team operational excellence programs and process improvements
- Contributing to the recruiting and hiring process
- Setting and balancing goals across team to optimize performance against department goals and employee development
- Strong people leader, able to effectively motivate and develop own team
- Proven leadership skills and teamwork skills.
- Excellent project management skills
- Proven ability to work and deliver effectively in customer-focused, cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
