Look at the BSC experience: BSC-CNS YouTube Channel Let's stay connected with BSC Folks We promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, fostering an environment where each and every one of us is appreciated for who we are, regardless of our differences. **Context And Mission** **Key Duties** - To develop wind farm CFD workflows and perform benchmarking activities that provide enhanced understanding of wind farm flow and highlight the unique capabilities of SOD2D. - To develop and disseminate scale-resolving based on high order spectral elements. - To participate in the rest of the CFD activities of the LS/CFD team in CASE. **Requirements**: - Education - Engineering, Physics or Mathematics background preferably with a MSc in computational fluid dynamics or similar - Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience - Wind farm modelling or experience in CFD code optimisation. - Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience - Experience in CFD for wind energy - wind resource assessment ( at least 1 year) - Experience in large-scale simulation (wall models for LES, complex mesh generation, industrial simulations, etc. ) ( at least 1 year) - Good programming level (python, C, Fortran, C++, etc.) ( at least 1 year) - Expedience in GPU programming and optimisation (OpenACC, CUDA, OpenMP) ( at least 1 year) - Experience with Algebraic Multigrid Libraries for sparse linear systems. ( at least 1 year). - Experience in CFD development ( at least 1 year) - Knowledge in large eddy simulation models ( at least 1 year) - Understanding of HPC clusters at a user level and experience programming MPI ( at least 1 year). - Good writing and oral skills (English is a must - Spanish preferable) - Turbulence modelling (LES and RANS modelling) - Competences - Ability to work independently and in a team-based, collaborative multicultural research environment. - Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills **Conditions** - The position will be located at BSC within the CASE Department - We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures - Duration: Temporary contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration - until december 2026 - Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement - Starting date: Sept/Oct 2025 **Applications procedure and process** - A full CV in English including contact details - A cover/motivation letter with a statement of interest in English, clearly specifying for which specific area and topics the applicant wishes to be considered.
