**Country Compliance Officer **- Spain & Italy - Compliance & Legal Department**

**Description**:
As a Country Compliance Officer, based in our Barcelona office you will be employed by our legal entity **Tokio Marine Europe S.A. **Sucursal en España** that trades under the Tokio Marine HCC name. As such, you will form part of a dynamic team of professionals that focus on assisting the Company and some affiliated companies in Legal and Compliance matters internationally but mainly focus in the European Economic Area, and in particular Spain and Italy. You will directly report to the Head of Compliance and Legal - Spain & Italy, based in Barcelona, who reports to the Tokio Marine Europe S.A. (TME) Head of Compliance and Legal based in Luxembourg. You will be key in assisting TME Spanish branch, TME Italian Branch and building relationships with its staff and your role will fully support and comply with the department and company’s objectives and standards.

**Responsibilities**:

- Advise on general corporate legal matters
- Implement compliance controls in the Company.
- Assist in regulatory compliance (both with DGSFP and the IVASS)
- Assist in preparation and submission of mandatory filings and registration forms
- Draft, review, negotiate and adapt contractual obligations and agreements of the Company
- Drafting regular quarterly reports for the department
- Assist to the coordination function of TME branches
- Assist TMHCC International compliance department and Company Secretarial department (both UK based)
- Secretarial legal support to corporate matters affecting TME Italian Branch
- Give legal support to all internal departments (Underwriting, Operations, Finance, HR, IT, )
- Developing and documenting procedures, templates and informational resources for the department
- Follow up of licensing registrations or renewal registrations
- Liaison with the Data Protection team on data protection issues affecting the business
- Become the Complaints’ Contact Person of TME IT BR
- Assist and oversee the performance of external legal counsel representing the company in outsourced matters
- Participate in special projects with legal & compliance matters involved
- Attend off-site conferences, seminars and meetings

**Requirements**:

- Law degree and preferably Master’s degree in Law;
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in a role focused on corporate legal department, advisory roles in financial services or law firm;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish, Italian and English;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel for work purposes
