DONATION AND TRASPLANTATION COORDINATION INTERN

JOB DESCRIPTION 3 VACANT POSITIONS

Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Currently medicine degree student (3rd - 5th)
- Currently biologic medical degree student (3rd - 5th)
- English

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Mandatory 120 university credits passed in UAB Medicine degree
- Mandatory half of university credits passed in UB Medicine degree.

Desired:
- Data collection and analysis knowledge
- English

Main responsibilities and duties:
Acquire knowledge about:
- Ethical and legal aspects of RD172372012 about regulation of procurement, clinical use and logístical coordination of
human organs for transplantation, as well as quality and safety aspects.
- Concept, clinical and instrumental diagnostic and legal aspects of brain death.
- Selection criteria and evaluation of potential organ and tissues donors.
- Organ and tissue donors’ maintenance.
- End-of-life communication between doctors and patients.
- Donation interview. Donation in brain death process.
- Donation after circulatory death process.
- Tissue donation. Legal aspects of RD-Llei 9/2014 about regulation of donor’s evaluation, procurement, quality and safety

of tissue donation.
- Tissue procurement process.
- Cornea procurement process.
- Ethical methodology in clinical cases discussion.
- Detection and notification of adverse events and reactions in donation and transplantation
- In-hospital bio-vigilance protocol for notification of adverse events and reactions.
- Quality management.
- Knowledge about organization of Tissue Bank (Banc de Sang i Teixits).

Acquire skills and attitudes in:
- Selection and evaluation of potential organ and tissue donors.
- Brain death diagnostic.
- Donor’s maintenance.
- Donation after circulatory death.
- Evaluation and presentation of clinical cases.
- Bibliographic research
- Participation in investigation projects.

Labour conditions:
- 15 hours per week.
- permanent contract with trial period
