“Commercial property Field Engineer” About the role The person should be able to conduct property loss prevention surveys of commercial property facilities including light, medium and high hazard manufacturing and process facilities (such as metal workers, plastic workers, rubber workers, wood workers, electronic manufacturers, electronic manufacturers, pulp and paper mills, steel mills, aluminum mills, cement mills, electronic manufacturers, semiconductor and non-manufacturing occupancies such as hospitals, universities, real estate, retail, etc) and providing report with all engineering information to internal AIG Underwriting team. The responsibilities for this role include: - Consolidate the basics principles and learn advanced principles of fire loss prevention and by completing the internal AIG Risk Engineering advanced training modules.- Attend designated internal and external courses to better understand specific areas of loss prevention i.e. fire (sprinkler) protection & water supply analysis.- Complete risk assessments of low and medium Hazard Grade risks to identify exposures and develop recommendations to reduce or eliminate the risks.- Perform risk assessment of higher Hazard Grade to identify exposures and develop recommendations through inspections- Produce loss estimates to assist underwriters in best use of AIG capacity. Key Measures/Dimensions- Complete (and pass) the on-line e-Learning AIG Risk Engineering modules on the Talent Development intra-net site.- Adhere to Quality Management System policies and procedures.- Demonstrate knowledge of key risk engineering issues (human element, construction, occupancy hazards, fire protection, business interruption exposures and natural perils) by providing written survey reports in accordance with AIG Risk Engineering guidelines.- Delivering reports within service level agreement based on due date and report delivery timescale following visit. What we’re looking for: - Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
