Senior Pedestrian Modeller

We have a Senior Pedestrian Modeller role in our established modelling team based in Madrid, Spain. We provide consultancy services relating to pedestrian modelling and design. This includes building, running and reporting dynamic simulations using CAST, Legion, Viswalk and STEPS, as well as carrying out static analysis.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

- Working on pedestrian modelling projects with a focus on microsimulation modelling.
- Project and task management on modelling projects to include survey programmes, model development, calibration, validation, demand forecasting and appraisal.
- Checking and approving model outputs for compliance with quality requirements and industry best practice and motivate others to do so as well.
- Training and mentoring other modelling resources in order to ensure project delivery and staff/team development.
- Liaising with clients and other project stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development activities including proposal writing.
- Working with the modelling resource manager to develop team capability.
- Promote innovative and cost-effective practices to deliver a high-quality service to internal and external clients.

You will be able to demonstrate a mixture of the following:

- Modelling software experience using CAST, Legion and Viswalk.
- Proven experience working on modelling projects including task leadership.
- Project management experience including programme, commercial and financial management.
- Skilled in the development of robust models to support decision-making.
- A history of innovation and involvement in external professional activities.
- Experience in developing pedestrian models from first principles.
- Some involvement in business development activities and have an understanding of the wider transport planning/engineering environment.
- Extensive experience of developing linkages between models and visualisation.
- Survey design, survey management and data analysis skills.
- Interest in developing other software skills including STEPS.
