Director, Alliance Outsourcing Management

**Location: Barcelona, Spain (3 days/week working from the office).**

The role of the Outsourcing Management Director is to act as the lead for one or more supplier(s) within outsourcing model(s) / service line(s) for portfolio deliverables within CTCO. They will be responsible for ensuring the supplier(s) within the model(s) are meeting the operational needs of the customers; ensuring sourcing strategy across CTCO and managing adherence to, ensuring outsourcing effectiveness, appropriate communications, ensuring that selected partners deliver to contract; and that strong relationships with the external suppliers are created and maintained. They ensure our suppliers deliver to the needs of the organisations; and develop strong, beneficial partnerships with key suppliers. Remains connected with the Alliance Management group within AZ Clinical Operations.

CTCO Director, Outsourcing Management will be reporting to Study Management Head within Cell Therapy Clinical Operations. Outsourcing management Director is responsible for supporting and monitoring all aspect of vendors performance and oversight at a global, hub and/ or country level. Responsible for global, hub and country level sourcing strategy within CTCO, including execution of the sourcing model, alongside overseeing Work Orders (WOs) management, execution of the 3PRM process and partnering with key vendors at a global/ hub / country level and providing feedback to the Alliance Management team as required, relevant to the agreed KPIs with the vendors. Working with global/hub and country CTCO leadership, supports and develops processes and systems to optimize business partnering to include External partners, Procurement and Alliance Management. Supporting Country Footprint strategy globally and regionally - partnering with CROs to develop and execute on the operating model in respective CTCO markets.

**Typical Accountabilities**

**Supplier / Model Governance**

- Accountable for the outsourcing management of one or more supplier(s) within or across model(s) / service line(s)
- Proactively identifies and manages risks at the supplier / model/service line level
- Serves as point of contact for issue escalation to Alliance Management for their assigned supplier (s), and key in ensuring solutions are identified in collaboration with the business stakeholders. Facilitates resolution of any operational issues that impact delivery
- Supporting the implementation of outsourcing strategies to ensure optimal and flexible sourcing models are implemented, delivering top tier industry metrics (time, cost, quality).Leads operational governance of the supplier(s) / model(s) / service line(s)
- Supporting large cross country project deliverables, as required.

**Supplier / Model Quality and Performance**

- Monitors quality and performance of service deliverables in alignment with the MSA and outsourcing model
- Ensure that selected suppliers deliver to contract and that strong relationships with the external suppliers and internal customers are created and maintained
- Ensures effective visibility of supplier performance to relevant stakeholders
- Ensures ongoing assessment and integration of Lessons Learned for suppliers / models/service lines
- Seeks opportunities to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement within supplier and model/service lines

**Study Team Support**

- Ensures understanding of roles and responsibilities across delivery teams for assigned delivery model(s) / service line(s)

**Stakeholder Engagement**

- Fosters development of a collaborative, organizational culture; and ensures successful relationships by building trust, demonstrating proactive partnership management, and holding internal and external stakeholders to account
- Represents CTCO Study Management in cross-functional groups and leads process improvement projects globally.

**Portfolio / Capacity Management**

- Monitors capacity within the supplier and model / service line to support the portfolio
- Partnering across CTCO Leadership, ensure creation and adherence to budgets.
- Support for CTCO Algorithms and systems, ensuring to reliably estimate demand for the functions.

**Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

**Essential**

- University degree in related discipline, or equivalent
- Strong experience from within the pharmaceutical industry or clinical research organization
- Detailed knowledge of clinical and pharmaceutical drug development process at various phases of development
- Experience of working successfully with external partners / managing relationships
- Experience of directing alliance governance frameworks and processes (incl performance metrics)
- Ability to network and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (incl senior stakeholders)
