We are looking for a Galileo Navigation Engineer to join our team at the ESA GNSS Science Support Centre (GSSC) in Madrid, Spain.

As a Navigation Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the GNSS data repository, ensuring consistent data availability and facilitating the ingestion of new data into the repository and data exploitation platform.

**About the client and location**:
The GSSC is a facility of the European Space Agency Navigation Science Office, a joint initiative of ESA’s Navigation and Science Directorates, to foster collaboration and research across scientific communities through the provision of science-based information products and services regarding GNSS Infrastructures.

The GSSC will also serve as the Data Exploitation Centre for the GENESIS mission, and you will be involved in defining the mission’s data file structure.

**Tasks and Activities**:
The scope of work will include:

- Managing the GNSS data repository, ensuring continuous data availability and maintaining data consistency and quality.
- Monitoring and resolving any issues in the GNSS data repository, implementing appropriate corrective measures.
- Ingesting new GNSS datasets into the repository and data exploitation platform, ensuring proper organisation and documentation.
- Contributing to the scientific aspects of data archiving and retrieval, ensuring proper categorization, metadata management, and accessibility of archived data.
- Ensuring compliance with data standards and best practices in data management and processing.
- Collaborating with the GENESIS mission team to define the data file structure and formats required for the mission’s scientific operations.
- Working closely with other team members and stakeholders to provide support and expertise in navigation-related matters and data archiving activities.

**Skills and Experience**:
The following skills and experience are mandatory:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geodesy or Geoinformatics.
- Strong knowledge and experience with GNSS data processing, analysis and quality control.
- Proficiency in file formats such as RINEX2, RINEX3, RINEX4, SINEX, SP3, SINEX, or IONEX.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:

- Familiarity with ESA missions and operations.
- Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks technology for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience in utilising Agile methodology for streamlined project management and effective teamwork.
