**The Institute**

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. **The role**

We are seeking for an enthusiastic and creative scientist to join CRG’s Technology Innovation Lab. Your work will focus on developing novel single-cell genomic technologies under the guidance of Dr David Lara-Astiaso.

Specific job duties will include: establishing state-of-the-art single-cell technologies (combinatorial-indexing and droplet based) and developing novel methods to integrate orthogonal modalities (CRISPR perturbations, Protein-Protein Interactions) within single-cell genomic readouts. This involves creative thinking, very good knowledge of molecular biology and continuous updating with cutting-edge literature. The role may include setting up protocols in automation liquid-handling platforms such as Bravo or Echo systems. Therefore experience in programming such (or similar) devices will be highly valued.

**About the lab**

The Technology Innovation Lab is a recent initiative launched within The CRG Genomics Unit. This dedicated incubator will develop breakthrough genomic technologies in collaboration with CRG research groups. Our aim is to serve as a hub where innovative ideas are tested and propelled using multi-disciplinary approaches, including chemical biology and genetic perturbation (CRISPR), in combination with different genomics methods. Our main research areas are single-cell genomics and epigenomics.

**Whom would we like to hire?**

**Professional experience**

**Must Have**
- You have 2 years of experience working in Genomics (wetlab) or expertise in technology development in a related discipline
- Research experience that demonstrates you are a quick learner and possess creative thinking to solve experimental problems
- Passion to develop novel technologies and strong interest in genome biology

**Desirable but not required**
- You have a PhD thesis
- Experience with single-cell methods and chromatin biology will be highly valued
- Experience with CRISPR perturbations, FACS-sorting and protein interactome methods will be appreciated
- You have experience with automated liquid handling systems
- You have data analysis skills

**Education and training**
- You hold a B.Sc in Molecular Biology or a related field

**Languages**
- You are fluent in English

**Technical skills**
- You have hands-on experience with NGS library prep

**Competences**
- You can work in a dynamic environment
- You have a flexible working attitude
