**Your role**

You will leverage your previous technical expertise to enable a group of engineers reporting directly to you to become technical leaders in their own field of expertise. You will drive major technical decisions within a domain of our product. You will also ensure that the team consistently delivers high-value products. You will form a team leadership group together with the Product Manager in the team and be accountable for the health and performance of the team.

You will be part of Juni’s FinCrime domain which enables other Product teams to deliver more features that our customers love by ensuring that Juni and our customers remain safe. The team manages several integrations to data providers and other third-party providers as well as Juni’s entire infrastructure focusing on preventing financial crime.

**Your responsibilities**

As **Tech Lead for the FinCrime Monitoring** team you will be focusing on three main pillars:

- Enabling your team to excel at delivering solutions that help Juni’s customers grow,
- Directly managing a group of engineers, helping them to develop in their careers,
- Driving technical decisions and championing Engineering Excellence practices.
- Within 1 month you'll:_
- Meet your team of reports and establish your regular 1:1s with them
- Meet the people in the wider FinCrime domain and their stakeholders
- Introduce an important architectural improvement to our Go codebase
- Fix two thorny unfixed bugs, which the team otherwise could not have done
- Within 3 months you'll:_
- Make sure the team is working well and with clear goals
- Ensure each person in the team has a solid personal development plan
- Help other web backend engineers say they’re learning a lot and are more productive because of you
- Have helped us build new features quicker than we otherwise would have - our velocity has increased significantly
- Within 6 months you'll:_
- Ensure your team is a high performing unit with end to end ownership over their domain
- Help introduce significant new features which radically improve our product.
- Impact the quality of the product, getting to the point where we fix all bugs and are improving performance metrics
- Be proud of the product and the codebase

**Your qualifications**

What we need to see:

- Prior experience managing software engineering teams (5-10 people) as a previous Tech Lead or Engineering Manager
- Experience developing, monitoring, and improving microservice architectures
- Knowledge of designing and implementing public and private APIs (gRPC/REST)
- Experience with CI/CD
- Great communication skills in English

What we’d love to see:

- Previous exposure to anti-financial-crime matters
- Knowledge of security and/or devops best practices
- Experience within the Fintech industry or within other regulated industries
