Marketing Intern

**The mission**:
Hi there If you are looking for a marketing internship, like to write, and have a decent understanding of business, please keep reading, we might be looking for you.

In this internship you will support the marketing team with benchmarking, monitoring, content creation and content distribution tasks. The tasks will get progressively more complex, following a path designed to help you learn about our industry and develop your marketing skills. You will support, and be supported by, the marketing manager, if you perform well, you will receive preferential treatment in the hiring process for a full-time content marketer that we’ll open in December.

*Please note that this is a 3-months internship and it requires an agreement with your educational institution.*

**Duties and responsibilities**:
The Marketing intern supports the Marketing Manager in all marketing activities, with special focus on benchmarking, content creation and content distribution tasks. The intern’s goal will be to facilitate the work of the team by reducing the workload of existing staff, increasing the company’s content output.

The intern will be trained by the marketing manager and is expected to learn quickly, improving his/her output over time and reaching near-independence by the end of the internship.

Monitoring and Benchmarking
- Monitor news on industry, competitors, clients, and prospects to spot opportunities and share key updates with internal stakeholders
- Track activity of influencers or other people of interest
- Monitor social media interactions with CVO content to spot commercially relevant ones
- Perform benchmarking on competing products and marketing best practices / strategies
- Keep track of industry events
- Maintain and update Caravelo’s media list

Content creation and distribution
- Create short and long form content for CVO’s website and social media channels
- Support the creation of white papers, reports, webinar series and other marketing materials
- Post materials on social media channels and monitor their performance
- Create drafts of press releases, presentations, and other marketing materials
- Cut, adapt, or repackage existing content to generate more content opportunities

**Required skills and experience**:
Required:

- Fluent in English. We don’t care if it is your native language or not, but we expect you to write and communicate extremely well (better than most native speakers)
- Decent understanding of business. You won’t need an MBA or a degree in economics, but we do need someone that can write about business for an audience of senior airline and travel managers.
- Sense of humor. Caravelo is a fun place to work, and we need people that fit in well with our company culture.

Good to have:

- Spanish proficiency
- Good understanding of marketing strategy, especially messaging, content creation and content distribution
- Background in journalism or other communications-related fields
- Familiarity or previous work experience in the Travel industry
- Previous experience in marketing and/or content creation
