In Spain, Thales Sistemas is specialized in Command and Control systems, Tactical Communications and Modeling and Simulation addressing solutions in the domain of Defense and Security. Thales is the Spanish leader in tactical Land CIS (Communication and Information Systems) covering all the product life cycle (design, development, production, ILS). Based in Leganés, Thales Sistemas employs a highly specialized workforce of more than 100 people, most of them engineers that participate in the following activities:

- Communications and Information Systems (CIS) to support Command function and Decision Making:

- Embedded electronics for military aircraft
- Tactical Communications
- Radio Navigation Aids for air traffic

We’re currently looking for a **Navaids System Engineer** focused on the execution of Air Navigation and Aids Projects for Defence and the Army.

**What will you do?**
- Solution design and project documentation
- Definition of the Verification and Validation plan
- Participation in system Validation tests
- Participation in FAT tests
- Preparation of Verification and Validation reports of the executed tests
- Participation in the product commissioning
- Creation of training content and delivery of training courses
- Technical support
- Interface with Thales manufacturers (Italy, USA)

**To do this, you should have**
- ** Telecommunications or Aerospace Engineering** (specializing in Air Navigation)
- More than **2 years of experience** in similar projects
- Analytical and communication skills, ability to work in a team & initiative in problem-solving
- ** Advanced English & Spanish (oral & written)**:

- ** Availability to travel** both nationally (medium-high frequency like 1-2 trips per month) and internationally (low frequency like 1-2 trips per year), mainly Europe

**Important knowledge to perform the role**:
**Hardware**:

- Knowledge of Air Navigation Aid systems
- Intermediate-advanced knowledge of IP networks (TCP/IP, SNMP), as well as equipment configuration (switches, routers, etc.)
- Knowledge of wave propagation and radioelectric systems (antennas)

**Software**:

- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- User-level Microsoft Office skills

**Any of the following will be valued**:
Certifications in:

- Security Personnel (in Spanish, “Habilitación Personal de Seguridad”).
- Official Microsoft and Cisco

Desirable knowledge of:

- Power Systems
- Signal integration in PLCs
- Docker, Kubernetes
