The Workplace Design Manager will take ownership of constantly raising the bar on design of Amazon offices across EMEA. Working backwards from the Amazon employees working in the office environment and ensure that the applied office design creates excellent work spaces that meet the needs of the users.
This role will also identify and incorporate all necessary in region design guidelines and ensure these are adopted. The Design Workplace Manager will take a lead role in exercising controllership of the adoption and work with the external design consultant to deliver projects in line with design guidelines. requires closely collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to incorporate customer feedback into design. Listen, understand and evaluate customer design asked. Educate and seeking alignment when design asked constitute to design deviation from design guidelines for offices created and managed by EMEA D&C (Design and Construction). Ensure all stakeholders involved in the design process incorporate the recommendations.
This role will be based in Spain, interim (1st - 12 months) rolling up to the EMEA Design & Construction Senior Manager and subsequently roll up to Global Workplace Design Senior Manager.
Key job responsibilities
- Act as the owner for all office design related topics within the EMEA region including performance, processes, best practices, standards and points of contact to Global D&C workplace
- Develop a cadence of communications with Global Workplace Team to provide insights into innovative designs driven by the EMEA region
- Manage the design governance process to ensure all projects are adequately signed off by all stakeholders and meet all required standards.
- Develop in region design guideline adaptations that complement the global design guidelines.
- Facilitate cross-discipline workshops & forums related to design, aimed at educating stakeholders on design guidelines as well as gather feedback.
- Foster adherence to, and understanding of, the design principled through inspirational training methods, enhancing the content and quality of training.
- Drive excellence in design through gathering input, feedback and inspiration, as well as partner collaboration and stakeholder alignment.
- Implement design initiatives aimed at maintaining strong cost rigor over fit out costs.
- Delivered and review design meets within allocated budget and best practices through strict adherence to guidelines and driving cost-consciousness among 3rd party partners.
- Ensure selected preferred suppliers of furniture and other office fit-out materials are used during the design stage on all projects. Continuously monitor the performance of selected items to ensure the preferred supplier program adopts to the changing needs of the office users.
