**The Qualifyze Product, Tech and Data team is responsible for**:

- ** “Building the Right Thing”**: Discover the right customer problems to solve and define the scalable solutions that are highly profitable and future proof
- ** “Building the Thing Right”**: Building such solutions with the right amount of technology that guarantees low cost of maintenance, high speed of delivery, and high quality.

The **Head of Engineering** is responsible for the latter “Building the Thing Right''. This means to take decisions around the development team and the tech stack to deliver fast, often, and with high quality.

**Main Challenges**:

- ** Lambdas and micro-services**: for a team of only fewer than 15 developers, the current stack based on AWS, lambdas, Typescript, is perhaps too complex for what we really need
- ** Testing**: the current testing strategy is almost non-existent. We have some end-to-end testing but it’s slow and relies on deploying to AWS for running the tests. With the right decoupled architectures (for example, Hexagonal Architecture) and outside-in solidary testing, we can have faster, more reliable testing.

**Expectations**:

- Guide and recommend how to work by defining a set of Working Agreements around code, infra, communication, agile, attitude, etc.
- Define a set of KPIs to track how the team and our apps performs and improves
- Defend an agile attitude to look for the minimum technology needed for validating the product hypothesis
- Push for Clean Architecture
- Push for fast, reliable, and with high coverage testing recommending solidary testing
- Define an overall architecture approach: micro vs. modular monolith
- Manage the teams doing regular 1:1s
- Help the team to grow by planning trainings, professional development, and catering for their needs
- Have a strong collaborative relationship with peers: Head of Product and Head of Data & CRM in order to jointly find holistic solutions
- Challenge Product and Stakeholders in Business Prioritization
- Lead the necessary people hiring
- Control the overall platform and tooling costs

**Reporting Line**:
The Head of Engineering will report to Carlos Buenosvinos, current Qualifyze CTO & CPO.

**About you**

For getting the best experience possible from this position, you should:

- Have experience leading teams up to 30 people
- Have experience developing Clean Architectures
- Have experience using AWS
