Overview:
**Associate Director, Language Center**

Complementing IE Univeristy´s (IEU) core value of encouraging diversity the Language Center (LC) provides our student body with the opportunity to discover the world through a variety of languages at many levels both in Segovia and in Madrid (Spanish, French, Chinese, Portuguese, German, Arabic and Applied English). This in-house service provides IEU students with a simple and manageable way of furthering their global outlook on education by integrating languages into their program schedule.

The Associate Director´s (AD) main responsibility is to supervise the day-to-day management of the LC alongside the Director and to guarantee the efficient flow of the daily operations and student services, overseeing the implementation of guidelines and policies, supporting faculty members and ensuring a world class experience for students.

The AD is expected to actively participate in the continuous development and innovation of the LC and ensure that the student and faculty perspectives are always taken into consideration when proposing improvements. S/he is the direct point of contact for the students, solving problems of more serious nature, or those that require superior action. Daily activity consists of supervising tasks among team members, overseeing the implementation of guidelines and policies, monitoring logistics and operations, supporting faculty members, and overall responsibility for student services in coordination with various departments to ensure an excellent experience for students.

The AD will report to the Director of the Language Center and will work along with faculty, students and staff of different departments of IE to ensure an optimal development of the programs.

The post can be located in the campus in Madrid, and will include regular visits to the Segovia campus.

**Responsibilities**:
We are looking for a motivated and team oriented individual who is an effective communicator both verbally and in written correspondence. This role requires great organizational and management skills as well as the ability of managing multiple and different challenges every day.

The above includes coordinating tasks among various team members, overseeing the implementation of guidelines and policies, monitoring students, supporting faculty members, and overall responsibility for student services - including the direct services by the LC and coordination with various departments to ensure a world-class experience for students.

**Key Responsibilities**:

**_With students:_**
- Meet with students in order to solve issues, offer advice, or give support with empathy and sensitivity on a daily basis.
- Support students facing academic difficulty.
- Manage the communication to students.
- Review and develop new procedures, academic guides and other materials in order to achieve a more efficient working dynamic.
- Identify ways to improve the student experience based on feedback and observation.
- Follow-up on students under observation due to their academic performance or special needs cases.

**_ With Professors & Other Departments_**

- Liaise with professors to communicate specific student situations, request feedback, ensure timely submission of grades, syllabi, etc.
- Collaborate with, coordinate and supervise key administrative processes throughout the year with the relevant departments and team members: Exchange, Admissions Department, Marketing Department, Planning, Documentation, Student Office, Campus Life, etc.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for certain projects, activities and tasks
- Provide high-quality data and information to the Director and track on measurement of student performance and achievements.
- Interact with the different departments of IE to ensure service provision for students and solve problems in the shortest possible time.
- Assist the Director in coordination of LC faculty.
- Participate in information sessions and open days.

- Work together with the Director on the coordination and implementation of new curricular and extracurricular innovations.
- Supervise and coordinate Program Assistants with professionalism and maturity.

Qualifications:
**Requirements**:

- Master’s Degree from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 3 years’ work experience.
- International profile and experienced in working with other cultures with customer orientation and the ability to as liaison to students and professors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to actively listen and demonstrate empathy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a role that requires both strong leadership and implementation skills as part of a
