Head of Controlling

The Eurovision Services is seeking for a Head of Controlling based in Madrid.

Eurovision Services (ES) is the premier service provider for event organizers, media organizations and sport federations.

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION**

The Head of Controlling ensures that all members of the control department have clearly defined roles and accountabilities and that personal development plans are in place to enable smooth achievement of departmental goals. In this position, they play a mentorship role to key departmental members, overseeing their training and professional development, and readying them for the succession of their position in the future.

The Head of Controlling has been tasked with the preparation of budgets inclusive of manpower, capital, overhead, and variances analysis. They formulate periodical cash flow projections, business plans, forecasts, and long-term financial goals and leads implementation and development of internal financial controls. The Head of Controlling is also charged with the formulation and management of the business’s financial systems inclusive of the development and maintenance of financial models for long-term use. They are further charged with the development, implementation, and maintenance of fixed asset control systems as well as the development and implementation of risk management systems. They further monitor the payments to creditors, banks, and financial institutions, ensuring the maintenance of the business’s integrity.

The Head of Controlling reviews and monitors the finance department’s performance by placing indicators and direct corrective action where necessary in a timely manner. The Head of Controlling delivers reports to the senior finance department leadership on the agreed upon performance indicators and in the agreed upon standard and schedule. They finally form quarterly/annual operating results delivered to senior departmental leadership and relevant stakeholders for further decision-making and strategy formulation.

**Main duties**:

- Responsibility for corporate controlling, reporting, FP&A, subsidiary control and the design of the planning and coordination of the financial planning and forecasting process
- Definition and further development of group standards by means of modern controlling instruments, controlling methods and reports as well as suitable KPI's
- Monitoring business development and performance, identifying and highlighting deviations and developing mitigation actions together with business owner and the executive team
- Driving and initiating projects to further improve business management performance at all levels
- Reporting and analyzing consolidated actual results versus budget, forecast, and previous year, whilst defining actions; preparation of group reporting and regular reporting of KPIs
- Driving harmonization of controlling systems and processes implementing a structural framework for business owners across the Group
- Monitoring of group-wide internal control systems and risk management processes
- Supervision and support of subsidiaries in reporting tasks
- Revision, management and monitoring of accounting practices between the various group of companies
- Leading the controlling team and closely liaising with the finance managers and teams; direct reporting line to the CFO
- Degree of business management, Finance, Accounting or Controlling; experience in audit company advantageous
- Many years of professional experience in a comparable position and industry
- Good knowledge of international and Swiss accounting standards (SWISS GAAP, IFRS)
- Experience of working in corporate group structures and complex, dynamic projects
- Demonstrated experience in managing corporate and operating sales and marketing controlling in international organisations
- High IT affinity. Experience with DYNAMICS 365 BUSINESS CENTRAL, Power-BI and LUCANET advantageous
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple stakeholder groups

**LANGUAGE - **Fluent in English (company language) and Spanish in speaking and writing
