Corporate Communications Manager

We are looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to help us build Trainline’s reputation as a strong partner for the European rail industry and government, innovating for the benefit of our customers, society and the environment.

This newly created role will be key to managing corporate PR campaigns and implementing strategic communications designed to target important audiences with a focus on the European market.

Based in our Barcelona office, you will work closely with different teams across the business, including public affairs, commercial, industry relations, investor relations, our B2B and technology teams. You will also work hand in hand with the wider Communications team, based across our offices.

We are looking for a highly motivated person who has a passion for crafting narratives and creating stand-out news stories that resonate with corporate audiences. Experience in managing agency teams and developing PR campaigns which deliver quality media coverage in business, industry and trade titles, is key. Ideally you will have experience working in a regulated industry and / or the tech industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with and help manage agency teams to deliver corporate PR campaigns and thought leadership content that targets important audiences with a focus on the European market.
- Develop corporate messaging for spokespeople and provide briefing support to ensure interview readiness
- Work closely with the broader Trainline communications team to ensure consistency of our corporate messaging and alignment to business objectives
- Track and report corporate communications impact
- Identify and pitch influential speaking opportunities and ensure spokesperson readiness
- Lead on building relations with relevant influential journalists in the rail industry and travel trade media, as well as support on relationship building with international transport, business and finance media
- Help monitor and report on Trainline and relevant industry media coverage, keeping the business on the pulse of relevant breaking news

**What you'll bring**:

- Solid track record in Corporate Communications, either in-house or agency-side
- Experience developing corporate PR campaigns
- Ability to identify strong corporate media stories, as well as drafting and pitching thought leadership content
- Experience building strong relationships with trade and industry media, as well as national corporate journalists
- Experience working cross-functionally with a range of business teams
- Experience developing corporate messaging and briefing spokespeople
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Proactive and collaborative, with a strong sense of what makes a quality corporate news story
- A self-starter with a sense of ownership of projects and a drive to deliver results
- Flexible and agile in a fast-paced environment and able to stay calm under pressure
- Good knowledge of the European political landscape (desirable)

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree, specialised in Marketing / Communications / Politics / Journalism or any related field
- Ability to speak English
