Predoctoral Researcher

Our research includes translational projects leveraging deep learning methods (e.g., convolutional neural networks, Vision Transformers) and graph neural networks to enhance stroke care. Specifically, we aim to develop advanced image processing techniques for pre-interventional medical imaging (e.g., CT) to deliver powerful decision-support tools for endovascular stroke treatment.

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required**:

- MSc in a relevant STEM field.
- Eligibility for a PhD position.
- Fluency in Spanish, English (business level)

**Desired**:

- Validated experience in medical image/deep learning projects (any publication record will be valued).
- Familiarity with medical imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, DSA, etc.) and image formats (DICOM, NIFTI).
- Experience in training, testing and/or deploying deep learning solutions (models developed in PyTorch).

**Experience and knowledge**:
**Required**:

- Proven expertise in research as demonstrated by publishing record in relevant journals or conferences or master thesis in relevant field.
- Fluency in Python.

**Desired**:

- Expertise in grant writing.
- SQL.

**Main responsibilities and duties**:

- Participate in engineering projects in the medical image context.
- Manage large image databases within the hospital.
- Turn your engineering projects into clinical and technical publications.
- Supervise practicum students.

**Labour conditions**:

- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate.
- Gross annual salary: 23.000 - 27.000 euros (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
