KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY- Providing practical and business-focused legal advice on privacy and data protection requirements globally (including, GDPR, Data Protection Act (UK), CCPA, and U.S. federal and state laws).- Support NCR Atleos’ data protection officer when communicating with European Union regulators- Exercising risk-based judgment on privacy concerns related to product and services offerings, including conducting privacy impact assessments and implementing privacy by design principles.- Assisting in privacy program assessment and benchmarking.- Drafting and negotiating agreements containing privacy and security clauses with customers, suppliers, and partners.- Supporting privacy due diligence in evaluating potential acquisitions and support the integration of acquired businesses into privacy program.- Leading regular meetings of cross-functional privacy team members.- Collaborating with others to prepare and update policies and procedures related to data privacy and data protection.-
- Supporting the NCR Atleos incident response process for events involving regulated personal data.-
- Providing research, guidance, and support on new and emerging privacy requirements.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE-
- Minimum 8 years of legal experience with an in-house legal team and/or large law firm (a history of both environments is preferred).- Expertise in the areas of data protection and privacy law (US and international data privacy laws).- Experience conducting/advising on privacy impact assessments, building and maintaining records of processing, and knowledge of privacy by design principles.- Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (“IAPP”) preferred.- Degree or experience working with technology and software preferred.- Excellent judgment, communication skills, and attention to detail.- Able to exercise risk-based judgment and propose solutions to complex problems.- Flexibility to work under short deadlines and outside normal working hours with mínimal advance notice.
