What you’ll do & Who you are

CNET is seeking a Head of AI to lead the development and implementation of our AI strategy. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate across the organization to drive innovation in machine learning, generative AI, and related technologies. Your leadership will ensure that AI initiatives create meaningful business impact and align with our broader strategic vision, helping to shape the future of both our products and operations.

Key Responsibilities- Define and execute the company-wide AI vision, strategy, and roadmap.- Drive AI adoption, identifying high-impact opportunities and guiding prioritization with stakeholders.- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and other departments to integrate AI solutions and drive impact, both in our products and services and in internal solutions.- Mentor and coach high-performing product and data teams, supporting their team members growth through training, documentation, and pairing.- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI/ML projects from ideation to production deployment and iteration.- Guide choices for AI/ML platforms, tools, and MLOps best practices.- Stay at the forefront of AI advancements, driving research and innovation.- Translate AI capabilities into business value and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.- Manage the AI department's budget and resources.

Required Qualifications & Skills- Proven experience designing, implementing, and deploying ML and GenAI solutions in production environments.- Track record of successfully enabling teams delivering impactful AI/ML solutions into production.- Deep understanding of ML algorithms, Deep Learning, NLP, etc.- Deep understanding of GenAI, LLMs, Agents, MCP, etc.- Knowledge of Python and common AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).- Experience with MLOps principles and cloud AI platforms (AWS and Databricks preferably).- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills- Experience in marketplaces sectors.- Experience with large-scale data processing (eg. Spark, Airflow).- Familiarity with AI ethics and data privacy and AI regulations.- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
