Senior Accountant Full Remote

We are looking for a Senior Accountant **based in Spain, Madrid for a big World Wild Company based in Belgium. Full Remote.**

**What we need from you**:
The following responsibilities are distributed among three experienced accountants, including yourself, for a total of 12 countries.

**Accounts Payable Accounting**:

- Verify that purchase orders have correct approvals and are assigned to the appropriate cost centers and GL accounts in **Concur.**:

- Manage the end-to-end accounting process from invoice booking to payment disbursement.
- Handle journal entries including prepayments, accruals, and inventory in transit.
- Conduct reconciliation of specific balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in month-end reporting for all affiliates.
- Preparing documents for internal and external audits.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions within the client.

**VAT**:

- Prepare VAT declarations, Intrastat, Intracom, yearly listings, etc., for all countries.
- Assist in tax file preparation for Belgium.
- Assist in VAT recuperation in European countries such as France, Germany, UK, and Spain for a big4 Client.
- Conduct monthly verification of declarations, payments, and G/L accounts.

**Payroll Journals Compilation**:

- Ensure payroll journals align with statutory requirements.
- Verify net payment files and calculated payroll amounts.
- Transfer salary payments to employees by uploading necessary files to the bank.
- Perform monthly reconciliations on all payroll-related accruals, including salaries, taxes, and benefits.
- Ensure accruals match actual payments and resolve discrepancies.

**Processing of Cashbook Entries**:

- Daily upload of BIA & Coda files to **SAP.**:

- Validate and accurately process transactions into appropriate General Ledger accounts.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies between ERP and bank records.
- Reconcile clearing accounts regularly.

**Must-Have**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant domain, with 5-7 years of work experience
- Team player who loves personal interactions and gives a clear personal touch to human relations

- Fluency in English (mandatory); French is a plus;
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and experience with SAP are nice to have
