- Barcelona**What We Are Looking for**:
ISGlobal is seeking a senior PhD level researcher in cellular immunology to work on the infectious diseases research projects performed by the Malaria Immunology Group and funded by the EU. The overall goals are to understand the mechanisms and mediators of protective immunity induced by infection (COVID-19, but also malaria, neglected tropical diseases [NTDs], flu and others) and vaccines as well as immunopathological mechanisms in long COVID and in co-infections, using multidimensional clinical, epidemiological, immunological and molecular data, focusing on T cells.

**Training and experience /Qualifications**:

- PhD on biomedical sciences with strong expertise on cellular immunology and infectious diseases

**Specific Requirements**:
In-depth knowledge of the principles of clinical and translational immunology and infectious diseases, and able to turn analytical methodology / processes into clear terms for obtaining and presenting data in an understandable way.
- Experience in analysis of immunological and infectious diseases data. Demonstrated experience in flow or spectral cytometry is mandatory.
- Experience in Elispot or Fluorospot
- Experience in FlowJO (mandatory)
- Experience in database management and programming for statistical analysis, and unsupervised approaches, preferably with R.
- Motivated researcher capable of setting and meeting deadlines and delivering research outputs to the required standard
- Strong organization and team-working and multi-tasking skills
- Professional attitude with attention to details
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Team player, yet capable of working autonomously, rational and critical thinker
- Demonstrated track record of achievements including first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals

**Key Responsibilities**:
Responsible for cellular immunology studies in the group,. Activities carried out in the project aim to investigate mechanisms of naturally acquired or vaccine-induced protection against infectious diseases, and identify correlates of disease or protection and immunopathological mechanisms. The studies are carried out in collaboration with national research centers.

**Specific Duties**:

- Lead a first project on COVID-19 after infection or vaccination and long COVID-19. Leadership in other subsequent projects involving other pathogens may follow
- Design, implement, and interpret biological experiments
- Knowledge of the relevant literature
- Prepare data reports, presentations to conferences and manuscripts

- Gross Salary Range: 30-33 K depending on experience
