As a company, RWE is well placed for the floating wind market, with ambitious growth targets to achieve 1GW floating either in construction or in operation by 2030as part of the Growing Green roadmap towards carbon neutral by 2040.
At present FOW has a broader technology landscape if compared to bottom fix, where in general, structures have reached a mature stage and selection is comparably narrow. As technology progress at high speed and learnings from projects can influence each other positively, Engineering effort is focused on the step change towards industrialization for delivery. The lack of a dedicated supply chain in some cases, would lead projects to balance between local requirements and the economies of scale, engage with industrial players, as well as local authorities to secure development and availability of infrastructure. RWE FOW Engineering & Industrialization Department is shaped with the perspective of a highly experienced interdisciplinary competence center to achieve the necessary holistic perspective for delivery of commercial scale. This also includes the need for a strategic perspective on the cost-down journey for FOW.
**Key responsibilities**
- Develop and implement RWE “Floating Offshore Wind” Industrialisation Strategy; Serve as global advisor for all relevant aspects associated to hub production, modular manufacture, technology and tactical alliances, with strong business & stakeholder orientation
- Strong networking and cross-fertilization across regions, fostering local and hub industrialisation strategies, share of best practice and consistency of approach with an eye on optimization and sustainability
- Engage with industrial stakeholders and develop ideas on economies of scale across RWE’s projects in relation to fabrication strategies to meet hub concepts with an eye on recyclability and circular economy
- Analyse and optimise the global and local supply chain, raw materials and manufacture to accomplish project needs
- Retain oversight of status of innovation projects, feed in the innovation roadmaps to de-risk industrialisation and modularisation of floating structures as well as support in fostering implementation across RWE portfolio
- Influence industry trends to the benefit of the business and act as key contributor leveraging strong communication and leadership skills
- Engage with industrial partners, but also with harbor authorities to secure development and availability of infrastructure
**Your profile**
- University / Post Graduate (Master Degree) or Bachelor Degree in combination with completed vocational training
- Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience to fully competent level (5+ years). Managerial experience is not relevant for the role
- Strong communication & stakeholder management skills with ability to effectively communicate with Senior Mgmt. and negotiate with senior ext. stakeholders
- Thorough understanding of manufacture processes and commercial implications, preferably in the energy industry, ability to develop strategies for cost-down
- English mandatory, additional languages are an advantage
- Willingness to travel within Europe and the United Kingdom
