An exceptional opportunity has become available for a dynamic **Senior Sustainability Expert** to strengthen Merck Corporate Social Responsibility area and our contribution to the better preservation of the environment.

The company has recently launched a Corporate Sustainability strategy that requires collaboration from all areas of the company. Procurement is playing a key role in the execution of this strategy. In this context, the Procurement team of our Life Science Sector (Sourcing LS) is seeking to incorporate a Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability Expert.

This is a global role with global responsibility. Your mission in this role will be to support the Sourcing LS sustainability initiatives, in particular, the Supplier Decarbonization Program, related to the reduction of Scope 3 emissions, in collaboration with the Head of CSR & Sustainability, sector’s Procurement team, internal stakeholders and suppliers, with the aim of implementing these initiatives according to the timelines set by the company.

Additionally, you will support the implementation and monitoring of the activities with suppliers regarding CSR and compliance requirements as well as supporting the change process within the team to embed sustainability into the sourcing organization.The job location is Mollet del Vallès, Barcelona(Spain). Occasional travels may be required.
- University degree, MS, MBA or similar, in a science field, ideally in Environmental Science.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of working experience in an international environment, ideally in Procurement and Corporate Social Responsibility / Sustainability and bring experience in the execution of sustainability strategies at the international level.
- You are able to manage global initiatives in the sustainability area and bring experience in project and change management with international teams.
- You are able to manage a high workload and have shown high performance over a sustained period of time.
- You have good communication skills at a professional level to interact with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- You are proficient in English C1- (this is a key requirement) and possess remarkable IT tool management skills.
- Previuos expereince in a Pharma company will be considered but is not a requierement
