**About the Role**

We are looking for a talented **Senior Game Artist (2D)** to join our Gaming Division in Barcelona. This is a key creative role where you'll not only create stunning 2D art assets but also implement them directly into Unity, bringing our casual mobile games to life.
You will be the artistic force behind one of our exciting casual mobile game projects, working in close collaboration with our Product team to ensure visual excellence and technical performance. This role is perfect for an artist who loves both the creative and technical sides of game development.
Key Responsibilities

- **2D Art Creation**: Design and produce high-quality 2D art assets for casual mobile games, including characters, environments, UI elements, and icons
- **Unity Implementation**: Integrate your art assets directly into Unity, setting up prefabs, sprites, and ensuring optimal performance
- **Technical Optimization**: Optimize assets for mobile platforms, managing texture atlases, draw calls, and memory usage
- **Product Collaboration**: Work closely with the Product team to translate game design concepts into compelling visual experiences
- **Visual Consistency**: Maintain and evolve the game's art style, ensuring consistency across all assets and features
- **Iteration & Polish**: Rapidly iterate on assets based on team feedback and game testing results
- **Documentation**: Create and maintain art guidelines and asset documentation for the project
- **Performance-Driven Design**: Balance visual quality with technical constraints of mobile casual gaming

**What We're Looking For**
**Must-Have Requirements**:

- **Senior-level experience** as a 2D Game Artist in the mobile gaming industry
- **Strong portfolio** demonstrating casual mobile game art style and quality
- **Unity proficiency** - Hands-on experience implementing 2D assets in Unity
- **Mobile optimization expertise** - Deep understanding of technical constraints and performance optimization
- **Versatile artistic skills** - Ability to create diverse asset types (characters, environments, UI, icons, etc.)
- **Collaborative mindset** - Excellent at working closely with Product and development teams
- **Creative problem-solving** - Finding artistic solutions within technical and design constraints
- **Attention to detail** with a strong eye for composition, color theory, and visual hierarchy
- **Proficiency in English** (working language at Appodeal)
- **Self-driven and proactive** - Ability to own the visual direction of a project

**Nice-to-Have**:

- **UI/UX design skills** - Experience creating engaging and intuitive game interfaces
- **2D Animation tools** experience (Spine, DragonBones, Unity Animator)
- **VFX and particle systems** creation in Unity
- **After Effects** for motion graphics and animations
- **AdTech/monetization UI** design experience
- **Scripting basics** - Basic understanding of C# for Unity
- **Live Ops experience** - Creating assets for events, offers, and seasonal content
- **A/B testing awareness** - Understanding how visual changes impact game metrics
- **Illustration skills** - Ability to create promotional and marketing art
