Director of Technology

Based in Barcelona, the Director of Technology reports directly to the Spanish Managing Director and is a member of the Spanish Management Team. He/she will be responsible for leading a diverse team including analysts, architects, developers, etc. This includes the daily management of Cloud and On Prem software development. It is the task of the Director of Technology to ensure that all projects are aligned and help achieve the ultimate goal, considering budgets, deadlines and scope.
- This role interacts with multiple high-level stakeholders and is highly visible within the organization. Therefore, the role requires a strategic operator with excellent people skills, ability to translate strategy into actionable operational processes, good process management skills and deep SaaS Platform knowledge.- Key deliverables for the role will include:
- Clear development roadmaps.
- Development of relationships across the various technology communities within the organization.

- Key responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and guidance to managers, and/or professionals based on organizational goals and company direction.
- Develops short and long-range strategic plans and budgets.
- Develops policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
- Determine local objectives and plans guided by a divisional strategy.
- Manages budgets, develops performance goals and implements changes.
- Responsible for Information Systems operations and for software systems analysis and programming.
- Reviews systems development project requests and coordinates schedules and related departmental activities.
- Provides overall direction and guidance to assigned project staff.
- Prepares activity and progress reports.
- Responsibilities Management Software Development Team:
- Planning and prioritization of projects and development cycles, monitoring and reporting about team, budget, resources, results, etc.
- Organizing and leading steering committees in collaboration with stakeholders (business and product development, architecture team, etc.) and with other teams from the business unit (services, back office, sales, business development, etc.)
- Contract management and procurement (external partners); daily management of the development team, including quality management, process improvement and project management.
- Lead the Cloud and On Prem development program.
- Monitoring budget, scope and timing of the entire program and the different project tracks.
- Set concrete objectives and monitor them closely in collaboration with the other management team members.
- Ensure project reporting, and indicate possible deviations and exceptions to the budget, timing and scope.
- Functional management of the different project managers who handle the technical implementation along with their development team.
- In collaboration with the architecture team, developers and project managers organize and chair the various project boards, and in this way ensure that the architecture, the user interface, etc. meet or exceed expectations.
- Manage complex projects from analysis, design and development through to the production stage.
- Coordinate product specifications / requirements between the technical and business side.
- Given the scope of the program, ensure risk and change management and continuous communications to all involved stakeholders.
