MISSION
Lead a mechanical engineering team in order to guarantee the fulfilment of the new products design, the prototypes delivery to the clients and that the new products fulfil the practices and specifications required.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Advice, coordinate and supervise the Mechanical Product Engineers tasks.

Evaluate/coordinate the related Project Risk Management plan and its implementation in order to mitigate risks.

Define development timing for engineering activities, considering the project requirements.

Coordinate and supervise in each Ficosa Development System (FDS)/Idneo Development System (IDS) phases the related product development tasks.

Deal with the client engineering for an effective products development.

Keep in touch with the suppliers for the moulds and pieces execution and monitoring.

Coordinate the Mechanical/Mechatronical development offers.

When necessary act as a project leader and /or technological leader.

Support the preparation of the department budget.

Collaborate/participate with the engineering master on design reviews, ensuring the use of standards, lessons learned and design rules.

Promote, together with Design masters, benchmarking activities and ‘state of the art knowledge’ inside engineering team.

Define development timing for engineering activities, considering the project requirements and defining the action to mitigate the development risks.

Contribute with Human Resources department to the attraction and retention of top technical talent in the area in order to upgrade quality and performance standards.

Define and execute training for the engineers on product specific knowledge as well as Ficosa procedures.

Ensure the technical development growth of the profiles under the area.

Make improvement proposal on corporate procedures, instructions and forms.

Establish a long-term relationship with the customer based on reliability and mutual knowledge.

Observe Ficosa’s Code of Ethics to avoid fraudulent practices. Comply with Information Security Management System (ISMS) applicable to the job, along with the training related thereto.

Lead the team, guaranteeing its effectiveness, development and motivation, fostering Ficosa's values.

Provide the team with the necessary means to comply with OHSE rules, ensuring they are properly used.

Actively cooperate in maintaining, promoting and improving the OHSE and Quality department.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

**Academic background**:
Bachelor’s degree, mainly in mechanical engineering

**Languages**:
Fluent local language & Fluent English (spoken and written)

**Experience**:
Minimum of 3 years in a similar position or 5 years as a product engineer

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS

**Additional training**:
Management skills would be of additional value

**Additional language**:
Other languages would be of additional value according to the project / business
