**Assistant Accountant**

**Job Summary**

This role carries out variedaccounting tasks and assignments including compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial dataand completes rotations, under varying levels of supervision. It is focused on developing the skills and capabilities needed to take on an Accountant role within Survitec.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Carries out a range of accounting activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the compilation, consolidation and analysis of financial data
- Tracksprogress against budgets within established finance systems and reportsvariances as appropriate, ensuring compliance with local market financial laws, requirements and regulations
- Implements aspects of the global Survitec control framework, developing and maintainingfinancial controls
- Collatesand analysesdata using standard accounting methodologies,systems, toolsand formatsto deliver high quality monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to the business, under varying degrees of supervision
- Produceskey financial data and documents including aspects of Survitec statutory accounts; monthly reporting, budgeting and reforecast processes; monthly management accounts pack (including commentary and analysis for key business stakeholders); and monthly balance sheet production, reconciliation and validation
- Participates in the monthly accounting cycle, including assisting with the organisation and co-ordination of the month end process and associated Board reports
- Carries out checks to ensure the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues, providing assurance to Survitec business and Finance management that the accounting records of the local entities are accurate
- Helpsothers get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice
- Gathers and summarisesdata for non-standard analyses and reports, improvement projects and programmes, under varying levels of support
- Receives and manages accounting queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring to others where necessary for interpretation of policy
- Carries out financial health-checks to identify instances of non-compliance with Survitec’s policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct. Works with senior colleagues to develop appropriate action plans, reportingandescalating findings as necessary according to Survitec policy and best practice

**Experience and qualification**

Educated to university degree level, or vocational equivalent

6 -12 months of under-graduate work experience, where course structure supports this

No formal management experience required, as this is a developmental role
