We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Lead QA Engineer to guide a small team of QA professionals in delivering high-quality software, API, and data product testing. This role is embedded within a cross-functional product team and is responsible for establishing and promoting best practices in quality assurance, while also actively participating in test design, execution, and automation.
- Lead and mentor a small team of QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and data engineers to understand requirements and define test strategies.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage and traceability across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Drive the adoption of QA best practices, tools, and frameworks across the team.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups to represent QA priorities and progress.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues, working with developers to resolve defects efficiently.
- Monitor and report on quality metrics and KPIs to stakeholders.
- Proven experience in a QA leadership role with hands-on testing responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright (JS), Postman/Newman, K6).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git/Bitbucket, Bamboo, Azure DevOps)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead by example and inspire a high-performing QA team.

**Other useful Experience (not required)**:

- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of data validation and testing in ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies
