A leading pharmaceutical company, working in various therapeutic areas, is now hiring for an exciting role as Senior Scientist in Dissolution. Here you will lead a group of scientist in Analytical development, working on developing new dissolution tests for drugs in development stages.
The role as Principal/ Senior scientist in dissolution is a diverse role that will provide technical leadership, and ensuring that deliverable are being met on time, at quality, and working closely together with the CMC leadership team to align the projects.
The department develops dissolution and in-vitro release methods for immediate, modified, and targeted release formulations for oral, parental, and other administration routes. They investigate, characterise, and predict in-vitro release rates in standard and bio-relevant dissolution media.
You will join this company at their Innovation hub in Belgium, where from the role is based. They offer relocation support.
**Responsibility**:
- Define the strategy for the Dissolution Science group in collaboration with the Analytical Development Leader.
- Represent the dissolution science in cross-functional teams for the support of drug development
- Leads the bio-pharmaceutical assessment to predict in-vivo exposure and relevant dissolution and in-vitro release methods and specifications
- Leads the deepening understanding of in-vitro release mechanisms in dissolution media
- Interacts with relevant health authorities and the wider scientific community to stay at the forefront of the scientific and regulatory trends in dissolution sciences
- Introduces new and innovative methods and technologies to the dissolution development, automation, and modelling to the department.
**Key Attributes**:
- PhD or Masters in chemistry, pharmacy, or other relevant life science degree
- A minimum of 5+ years in Pharmaceutical industry in Dissolution sciences
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- Proven track record of dissolution method development in a large pharmaceutical company
- Experience with local delivery formulations, long-acting formulations, and clinically relevant dissolution methods
- Knowledgeable of Health Authority regulations and guidelines
- Strong scientific thinker with a strong network in scientific community
- Motivated to stay up to date on latest dissolution trends and interacting with the wider scientific community
