As a Legal Counsel for Spain & Portugal you support, guide and protect the H&M Group in relation to leases and other legal contracts by negotiating, drafting and reviewing various agreements and setting and enforcing legal standards.
You collaborate with a different number of relevant stakeholders to ensure we get the best possible deal both legally and commercially. For this we expect you to be comfortable making decisions and efficient in resolving situations with conflicting interests while also daring to speak your mind and have strong sense of integrity and rational thinking. We are looking for someone that has an eye for detail, that can prioritize goals and tasks and is a problem solver.
A Day in the Life of a Legal Counsel
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:
- You conduct legal enquiries and due diligence and identify and analyze any risks and consequences associated hereto.
- You constantly improve our contracts so that we are safeguarded in the best possible way.
- You set and implement routines and the way of working for execution of contracts and ensure the execution done in the correct way.
- You collaborate closely with lease managers, construction, facility and other relevant stakeholders.
**Qualifications**
Who You Are:
- You have a Law degree
- 3 years of experience as in-house Legal Counsel (preferably in Retail) or experience in a law firm
- Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, providing legal guidance on contractual matters and support commercial negotiations to protect H&M’s interests.
- Can understand, read, speak and write English and Spanish at an advanced level.
- Growth mindset - open minded and with a desire to constantly learn and improve.
- Brave to take risks and challenge the status quo
