**Description**

The position is associated with the project B3ES (Optimization strategies for 3D battery electrodes) funded by the “Agencia Estatal de Investigación”. In this project we aim to develop a completely new approach for the optimization of battery electrode designs combining novel experimental electrochemical methodologies and physic-based simulations.

**The requirements are as follows**:
**Tasks Description**:

- First principle-based modelling of battery charge, heat and mass transport for various 3D electrode shapes.
- Manufacturing, characterization and testing. Specially in the design and specifications of the samples to make it match with the simulations.
- Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals, presentation at congresses, etc.
- Supervision of Master’s and undergraduate students.

**Requirements**:
**Compulsory Requirements**:

- B.Sc. degree in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.
- MSc. degree in Physics, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Material Science, Energy or similar.

**Other merits to value**:

- Experience in Battery technology and knowledge in physical processes involved in their operation.
- Specific training or hands-on experience with electrochemical energy storage devices and electrochemical characterization.
- Programming skills (Matlab-Simulink, Phyton ).
- Experience with simulation software (e.g.. COMSOL, PyBAMM )
- Research experience and previous experience in scientific communication.
- Oral and written communication skills in English.

**Selection Criteria**
- Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
- Knowledge of English.
- Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

**Conditions**
- Remuneration: Between 21.000€ - 23.500€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
- The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
- Contract: Until 31st August 2027
