HP Barcelona site is positioned to be the worldwide reference point for HP's Graphic Arts Business. The Barcelona site hosts the HP Large Format Printing Business, responsible for the Research and Development, Marketing and Operations of the full range of HP Large Format Printers, including HP Designjet and HP Latex.
We are looking for an Intern in Media Applications Development team.
The team contributes to the LFP business through:
- The Media Workstream team is responsible to enhance sustainability on printing substrate portfolio by means of influencing on materials design, pushing for transparency and circularity.
- Within the FY24 goals, the team is launching a tool to classify and rank printing substrates based on sustainability criteria as well as assessing the feasibility to set a recyclers network to improve EOL of printed substrates (PVC’s mainly) that currently end up in landfill or incineration.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Research on scientific papers and regulations to substantiate sustainability arguments
- Being curator of printing substrates database, following sustainability criteria and ranking
- Understand and define both technical and logistic requirements for printing substrate recyclability.
- Search and connect with potential recyclers
- Check if contacted recyclers would fulfill HP partnership standards
- Contribute to Media Workstream disciplinary tasks as needed
**Job Requirements**
- Currently studying Bachelor's or Master's degree in Material Engineering, Environmental Engineering Sustainability or similar fields.
- Highly committed with environmental matters
- Specific knowledge on sustainability would be a plus
- Used to read and synthesize scientific papers, regulations and standards
- Fast learner. Proactive in acquiring autonomous knowledge in record time. Competency and skill growth focus. Independent judgment and ability to drive convergence and decisions.
- Goal oriented and good communication skill set. Ability to communicate technical data, research results and proposed solutions to different audience.
- Hands on approach and proficiency in experimental design. Familiar with DOE and data/statistical analysis techniques
- High level of analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal relationship, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English
