We are Anchor Point Studios and we're looking for a Lead AI Programmer to help us build the future of mind-blowing video game entertainment for a new, innovative 3D action title.
As our Lead AI Programmer, you will be responsible for driving the development, optimization, and maintenance of core AI systems whilst collaborating closely with Art, Design, engine AI developers, and external partners. Additionally:
- Experiment with game design through rapid prototyping to explore innovative gameplay possibilities and interactive AI experiences.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to team members,including career development, performance evaluations, and goal setting. Work in close collaboration with the engineering and design teams to craft memorable gameplay experiences.
- Profile and optimize code to meet memory and CPU budgets, proactively diagnose and fix bugs in AI and character systems.
- Author and revise AI behaviors for in-game characters,ensuring interactive and playable spaces that facilitate AI interaction. Tune characters based on design goals and playtest feedback.
**About You**
- Demonstrable AAA title experience with significant experience in AI development, particularly in Unreal Engine.
- Profound knowledge of AI systems (e.g., Behavior Trees, Finite State Machines, Pathfinding, Etc) and significant experience in developing AI behaviors in Unreal Engine.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Blueprint scripting within Unreal Engine, including a solid foundation in data structures, algorithms,design patterns, object-oriented programming, and debugging.
- Experience with Multiplayer and Networked Game AI: Understanding of the specific challenges and solutions for AI in a networked or multiplayer game environment.
- Skills in optimizing AI and game performance for various platforms, ensuring smooth gameplay experiences across a range of hardware specifications.
