The Risk and Pricing regional department based in Madrid is responsible for providing Munich Re´s businesses in the markets of Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy and Malta) and Latin America with best-in-class actuarial and risk management services.

We are looking for an Actuary to join the Pricing team which reports to the regional Head of Risk and Pricing, supporting the region in underwriting and pricing of traditional health reinsurance business, with experience in pricing, product development and risk management. In this role, the actuary will work closely with the client managers and the other business origination units in the development and implementation of a strategic business plan in health-related insurance solutions. The actuary will also contribute to the Life reinsurance initiatives and various projects of the department.

As member of the regional Pricing team, the actuary will join a community of Life and Health actuarial experts across Europe and Latin America, and from a business perspective will report to the Actuarial Pricing Manager.

Your Job
- Play a key role on quotes and basis development on the health business, through pricing of core and complex reinsurance products based on client data
- Pricing of primary insurance products and monitoring of primary insurance products, reserving and actuarial consulting for MR clients which may include onsite reviews
- Documentation of the pricing modelling and pricing assumptions as well as the monitoring of our reinsurance business and the primary insurance business
- Establishing close contacts with the actuarial and underwriting units of major existing and potential reinsurance clients in cooperation with the commercial team
- Maintain and further develop market knowledge of health insurance and reinsurance products, medical trends, pricing and reserving models
- Ensuring quality and excellence in the pricing of traditional reinsurance business in Spain & Portugal markets, including the development and implementation of new actuarial pricing models in line with the demand in the region
- Be accountable for delivering accurate and timely work as part of a team working together to meet tight deadlines
- Contribute to the team’s continuous drive to improve processes to ensure they are as efficient and competitive as they can be

Your Profile
- University degree in statistics, mathematics or actuarial science, ideally fellow member of an international recognised Actuarial Association
- At least 5 years of experience in health primary insurance or reinsurance
- Practical experience in health reinsurance pricing (proportional and non-proportional) and/or health primary insurance pricing in the Iberian Peninsula, in various markets would be a plus
- Knowledge in Microsoft Suite, specially advance excel (can perform complex functions), word, programming in R or similar software
- Very good Spanish and English language skills, Portuguese would be a plus.
