Celonis Labs is the think tank for future innovation and emerging technologies in Execution Management. Our team consists of Software Engineers, Innovation Architects, Product Owners, Emerging Technology Researchers, and Innovation Engineers. We are passionate about evangelizing a transformative vision for Celonis’ new solutions including fostering co-innovation with customers and partners. We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to join us on this mission working for one of our key co-inventor partners, Emporix, on exciting cloud-based enterprise e-commerce software.
To build out these “Execution Apps” and form a DataOps capability at Emporix, we are looking for a full-time Data Engineer with a background in programming.
**The work you'll do**:
- Design and Implement “CXP Apps” marketplace by setting up automated process workflows that ingest data from various disparate sources, operate with the data performing corrective actions and feed back into an analysis platform using a combination of open-source and commercial products
- Build connectors to common data sources using an OEM low-code automation platform
- Develop pre-aggregation and transformation scripts to cleanse data for analysis and write tests for these scripts to facilitate continuous delivery of changes
- Perform hands-on data consulting, developing ETL solutions, running workshops (R&D mindset)
- Build POC’s and present progress and results as part of an Agile Development process
**The qualifications you need**:
- Degree in the field of IT, Data Science or similar
- An understanding of the needs of a “Modern Data Stack” and an Embrace of DataOps concepts
- Expertise with programming/scripting languages common in the data science field (e.g. Python, SQL) as well as Git-based Version Control (Github, Gitlab etc)
- Experience with cloud technologies, cloud services, and key cloud services providers in the Data space
- Experience with tools and concepts related to data and analytics, such as ETL/ELT solutions (e.g. Talend, Moltano, Fivetran, Airbyte, dbt ) and data governance tools (e.g. Monte Carlo)
- Experience integrating structured and unstructured data (CSV, JSON, relational, XML/XSD, Avro) into Datawarehouse and BI systems.
- Working Knowledge of NoSQL database technology (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchDB etc.)
- Experience with Relational database technology (e.g. Postgresql/Mysql) and Modern Cloud Data Warehouse solutions (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) with a fluency in SQL
- Familiarity with Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) solutions (e.g. Clickhouse)
- Knowledge of streaming and messaging middleware (e.g. Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Experience of integrating APIs (RESTful, GraphQL, SOAP etc)
- Experience of data visualisation tools such as Mode, Metabase, Redash
- Familiarity with low-code automation solutions (e.g. Zapier)
- Familiarity with process mining solutions (e.g. Celonis) is desirable
- Ability to solve challenging technical problems independently or in a team environment working in a remote capacity
- Ideally experience in agile development (Scrum)
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)

- API Integration (REST/GraphQL): 2+ years
