**Eurecat is searching for a **Computational Social Science Researcher** to join our Data Science and Big Data Analytics team. **He/She will help on the department ongoing R&D projects and he/she will also develop new ones.

**COMPUTATIONAL SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCHER**

**Functions and Responsibilities**:

- Work on innovative research in the field of computational social science and complex systems in areas like information dynamics, urban sciences (e.g., mobility), digital democracy, digital humanities, etc.
- Collaborating on the design and implementation of technological solutions. Collaborating o the developement of tools for collecting, analysing and modelling social big data, such as models that characterise social phenomena and their cascade effects.
- Collaborating on the drafting of proposals and execution of European R&D Projects
- Reporting and disseminating project results to various audiences
- Collaborating with researchers coming from various disciplines such as cognitive and behavioural science, computer vision, journalism, citizen science, etc.

Studies and Knowledge:

- Holding a PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering or related disciplines.
- Having previous knowledge on complex systems and artificial intelligence and more particularly in computational social science methods (e.g., network analysis, agent-based modelling, simulation, etc.)
- Having previous experience using libraries for data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and deep learning (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras ). Having excellent programming skills in Python following good practices on reusable code, and software documentation.
- Having previous experience in preparing proposals and participating in R&D consortium projects, particularly EU-funded projects (e.g., Horizon Europe).

- The person who will join the team should have time management skills
- They should be an organized person.
- They should be able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- They should also be able to work in an autonomous way and communicate/document the results in a comprehensible and professional way.
- They should be self-motivated and passionate about the projects and they should have strong sense of curiosity and experimentation.

Languages:
- High oral and written communication skills in English
- High oral and written communication skills in Catalan or Spanish are desirable
