Sustainability Project Coordinator

We are currently recruiting for a Sustainability Project Coordinator to support all sustainability initiatives and projects, communications, reporting, administration for Spain. This is a permanent full time role and will be based in our new modern office in central Barcelona. This position will require applicants to be fluent in Spanish and English

The purpose of this role is to “Unlock the Power of Clothing” across UNIQLO’s three strategic sustainability pillars: People, Planet and Society. This role will have a dual reporting line to both the EU Sustainability Manager and Marketing Manager Spain. You will work across a range of teams including marketing, HR and the wider sustainability team across the EU.

Key Responsibilities- Creating strategic, seasonal plans and managing the overall sustainability calendar in line with the EU Sustainability and Marketing calendar- Managing relationships with existing and new non-profit organisations to create, plan and perform meaningful volunteering opportunities for employees- Responsible for ensuring business practices, products and services are environmentally friendly and compliant with local regulations- Developing ReUNIQLO Studios in Spain- Implementing processes and business transformations that reduce the organization’s carbon footprint- Encouraging diversity and inclusion as UNIQLO’s fundamental core principles by supporting the inclusion of people with disability, refugees and other vulnerable target groups- Providing strategic input on the sustainability internal and external communication approach- Working with store managers and sustainability ambassadors to ensure all sustainability information is up to date in store- Monitoring and reporting sustainability KPIs (energy/CO2 reduction measures, D&I, recycling etc.) for Spanish business and sharing with stakeholders including the global headquarter team- Occasional weekend availability will be required, in addition there will be some travel (mainly within Spain)- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree ideally in Sustainability or equivalent experience- Ideally 1 plus years experience in a sustainability position- Fluent in Spanish and English is required- Fleuncy in Catalan is preferred, but not required- Strong organisational and project management skills- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills- Proficiency in Microsoft Office in addition to excellent project mangement skills- We are looking for good interpersonal skills, a team player with leadership qualities.- You will be confident and able to raise your hand to ask questions, put ideas forward, or ask for support when needed- Passionate about social and environmental issues- Passionate about fashion, têxtiles, and UNIQLO
