Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution, located in Barcelona (Spain) that promotes and
develops innovative biomedical research at the University Hospital Vall d'Hebron. VHIR is oriented towards finding
solutions to the health problems of the citizens and has the will to contribute to the scientific, educational, social and
economic development within its area of competence.

One of the principal objectives of the Internal Strategy Unit Directorate is to redefine and transform the research and
researchers’ assessment system and align VHIR internal policies with the European framework being part of the CoARA
community. For that reason, we are looking for an experienced individual in the research assessment field who is willing
to start the challenge of working on a new project in one of the most important and competitive Research Centres linked
to the health sector in Spain/Europe.

- At least 2.5 years of experience managing national and international, public and private calls, with the main

focus on Talent Attraction and Retention competitive calls.
- Experience on strategic institutional proposal submissions.
- Deep knowledge of the IISA ecosystem.
- High level of Spanish and English, spoken and written (Proficiency level).
- Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
- Person with a proven hands-on attitude, flexible, adaptable, creative, very dynamic and used to working in a

team.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Good command of English, Spanish and Catalan

**Desired**:

- Experience in CoARA community and DORA criteria implementation, research assessment strategies and

narratives with impact.

**Main responsibilities and duties**:

- Institutional elaboration and implementation of CoARA and Open Science policies and the new VHIR strategy

for research assessment.
- Promote and reinforce the alliances between VHIR and other institutions regarding research assessment and

recruitment and retention talent initiatives.
- Participation on the submission of strategic institutional calls.
- Revision and improvement of internal policies.
- Keep track of the scientific community helping them to achieve stabilization contracts in our institution.
- Conceptualization of the institutional calls and support on the evaluation criteria elaboration.
- Conceptualization and implementation of follow up and internal evaluation programs for researchers.
