**Job Description**:
Role Overview:
The Proposal Enginer is responsible for producing technical and commercial proposals according to customer requirements and needs. The Proposal engineer will work in collaboration with the Sales / Product / Engineering / Software / Execution teams to build a winner technical & commercial proposal with associated contractual conditions. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines.

DTN Business Area:
The Proposal Engineer will work at DTN in the Weather Systems area, which is focused on providing weather systems and environmental observation solutions, to support our customers in their operational needs.

The key sector where DTN Weather Systems operates is the Aviation sector, providing aeronautical meteorology systems to efficiently and accurately collect, manage and disseminate local weather and environmental information to provide safer and more efficient flights and airport operations.

Core Responsibilities:

- Interpret enquiries and requests for quotations to understand the customer’s requirements.
- Define the most suitable technical solution according to DTN business model and solutions portfolio, in collaboration with Sales / Product / Engineering / Software / teams and build the costing analysis accordingly.
- Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Sales / Product / Engineering / Software / Execution Teams as well as Finance and Legal Depts.
- Contact to suppliers/subcontractors to request quotations in accordance with the specifications.
- Enhance & consolidate quotes to reach target price while avoiding rejection and margin slippage.
- Produce and deliver compliant, professionally produced proposals including a comprehensive and well-organized set of documentation with prices, commercial conditions, comments and deviations, technical descriptions and other kind of documentation to be submitted to customer at defined deadline.
- Manage the tender risk analysis involving relevant internal stakeholders.
- Manage the approval process before the tender submission.
- Support the Business Development Manager during customer negotiations and closing of the deal.
- Handover the Project to the Execution Team when it has resulted in a Contract / Purchase Order.

Experience
- At least two years of proven experience in planning, producing and delivering compliant proposals within a complex business environment.

**Qualifications**:
Engineering Degree (Industrial, Telecommunication, Aerospace)
